ZS at 16 months

Hi folks!

Time really flies..ZS is now 16 months old.

And last weekend, this cheeky boy surprised me few times with his newly-acquired antics and skills.

I believe he has picked up the skills along the way without us noticing it..but voila..last weekend..a strings of his "capability"  kind of surprise me..that I must record it down here(especially since I do not had the chance for the previous two for some reason)...

So here's they are:
  1. He suddenly give me marathon of kisses, at first on the lips..then I taught him to do it on the cheeks instead as my lips was injured after his head fell on me while playing roughly with his sister.
  2. He came to me to complain and point at his sister; when his sister refused to let him have some of her stuff. So amusing to see that...seriously..when he learnt such skills ..must be from his older brother, SE who often does that when he doesn't get his way /get "bullied" by his sister.
  3. Able to eat on his own, feed himself very well I would say. I can eat my meal peacefully as long as I prepare a portion for him and let him sit on the same table (not on his highchair) together.
  4. He started to call his gorgor. His first word was che che and that was months ago. Secondly was daddy...and now finally he called out his gorgor loudly...and it's not my turn yet...he hasn't really started calling out for me..
  5. He would drag his sister, pull her or anyone of us..to bring him to do things he wanted to do. E.g., taking the key to open the door.
  6. He would go to anyone of us who seems to be wearing nice clothing which to him means is "going out" or "kai kai" time...most of the times..cling to his dad when he saw him wearing office-like clothing..lolx.
  7. He would point to the picture(our family snapshots) on the wall and call out daddy. Yesterday, the moment he woke up, he called for daddy(yes, again)..and this morning..again he called out for his daddy with tears in his eyes. This happened whenever he woke up and cannot find his daddy. He simply loves his dad a lot...so is DH to this little apple pie.
He brings us much joy, delights and lessons in life...from him i learnt that to learn something, we have to keep trying. He never fail to keep trying when he didn't get the things right or simply when he mastered a new skill. He will keep repeating the same thing.

Mommy loves you a lot ZS...may you blessed with good health and happiness in days to come!

Cheers!

Vegetarian trip to Langkawi

Hi folks!

Travelling to any destination for a vegetarian is another adventure on its own.

Before we made our maiden family trip to Langkawi, we've made some survey and found out there's only one pure vegetarian restaurant in Langkawi:

Xin An Vegetarian Cafe
Vegan Restaurant33, Pusat Dagangan Kelana Mas (at opposite EON Bank), Langkawi, 07000
04-9662396
Open Mon-Sun 10:30am-3pm, 6:30-9pm.Cuisine: Vegan, Chinese, Malay, Fast food, Take-out

We've taken dinner, breakfast and lunch at this restaurant. The price is almost the same as the eateries in Kuala Lumpur. So we don't consider it expensive. But don't expect a lot of varieties. So after three meals at this restaurants the kids opted out and asked for waffles, herbal eggs (the kids are still on lacto-ovo-vegetarian diet) and corns in cup which you can find across a street, few shops away from this restaurant.

Note: However, upon checking on google as I am writing this post, there seems to be more than one options(some are not pure vegetarian just has vegetarian as one of the option in their menu!) Do check out more here at Happycow listing.

When we're at Pantai Cenang one night, we found a lovely eatery with excellent service and food called Artisans Pizza (apparently they are quite well-known over there).

Artisans Pizza

Located at Lot 1230, Pantai Cenang, 07000 Langkawi, Kedah
Operating hours: 09:00 - 23:59
Contact details: 012-4771232 (Cenang), 012-5231232 (Kuah), 017-4771232 (Pantai Kok)

We're able to customised vegetarian pizzas there (priced at MYR28 for large pizza). We also ordered magharita pizza, combo salads, local coffee and lemon tea which are all taste fresh and yummy! And most importantly they offer great service (unlike the other eatery who openly asked us not to come as we're too large group for them! sigh...)

Another option (which we did not managed to visit this round is Pappa Rich where you can find vegetarian option in their menu.)
Unit GF 26, Langkawi Fair Shopping Mall 07000
Langkawi,
Kedah

Tel: +604-9660314

If you are staying in an apartment or place with cooking facilities, you can actually buy some groceries at the supermarket to cook some simple meals there.

We've managed to find a vegetarian food supplier (see the signboard in the picture) where we bought some frozen food to add on to our kon lou noodles, stew rice, asam laksa vegetarian fish, tempe, etc. Quite a yummy feast thanks to our buddies with very good culinary skills!

Sorry that we didn't managed to snap any of the food pictures as it was just too tasty and we're simply famished too!

Till our next updates on our vegetarian meals adventures!

Cheers!

Ordering food at favourite kids-friendly restaurant

Hi folks! My kids and I love visiting this place called MyVege where we get to write our own orders, with wide varieties of food choices (satay, dim sum noodles, porridge, juices, Rojak, u name it!). And KY loves being in-charge to take down our order. She learnt to fill up the menu code(and indicate our preference- less ice/no ice/hot; spicy/no chilli, etc), table name, date and no. of patrons on the table. Giving her a sense of achievement and fun I guess ;)

As for me I love visiting this restaurant cos their food arrived quickly, there's ample of space and high-chairs for kids, it i clean and I don't get stared at when we spent too long time finishing our meal there as this outlet has upstairs space as well when downstairs are fully-booked, patrons will move upstairs. Today I just went there and we spent an hour there ..yea..having a no-rush meal where kids enjoyed their food and mommy enjoyed her "peace". At this restaurant I don't have to force them to eat their food. They can memorize their favourite choices and lick them clean ;)

Which is your favourite kids-friendly restaurant?
